Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5

Today (12-7-2011) I was present as Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams, announced that his office would not continue to seek the death penalty against Mumia Jamal, aka Wesley Cook. Cook would then receive life in prison as prescribed by the law.

Throughout the 30 years since the senseless and tragic death of Police Officer Daniel Faulkner on December 9, 1981, Lodge 5 has maintained that the Philadelphia Police investigation arrested the right man for the assassination of Dan Faulkner. In addition, a Philadelphia Common Pleas Jury found that same person guilty of Murder in the first degree and sentenced him to death.

Despite the legal wrangling of the last 30 years those facts remain the same. Also remaining the same is the support that Lodge 5 has given and will continue to give Dan’s widow, Maureen and their families.

Now, confronted with the possibility of a new death penalty phase and the same protracted appeals Lodge 5 feels this is the right choice.

We hope Wesley Cook will fade into obscurity and the next time we hear from him is his obituary.

                IF YOU ARE TAKING THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED TWO(2) CLASSES FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER, YOU MUST LIST THEM BOTH ON YOUR INITIAL MEMORANDUM.

                PLEASE SEND ALL TUITION REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM PAPERWORK DIRECTLY TO THE OFFICE OF D/C ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES. IT IS NO LONGER NECESSARY TO SEND IT THROUGH YOUR CHAIN OF COMMAND.
